Ideation & testing results
Simplifying the home experience
User testing revealed that combining multiple features on the home screen created confusion. The design evolved to focus solely on mood selection, removing secondary elements to improve clarity.
The final solution presents the six emotional states in a calm carousel, reducing cognitive load and supporting users with busy, high-stress routines.

Key Learning & Takeaways
Be Open to Evolving Ideas
Even though we naturally start with a preconceived idea of what a project will be, it’s essential to remain flexible during the research phase. Insights from user research often challenge initial assumptions, leading to more informed and effective design solutions. Staying open to change ensures the final product aligns with real user needs rather than just initial expectations.
Simplify to a Single Core Functionality
Focusing on one main functionality allows for a clearer, more intuitive user experience. By stripping a concept down to its essence, the product becomes easier to understand, use, and communicate, reducing complexity and increasing impact.
